Different people have different circumstances and health requirements. This is something that we recognize at Shawn Specialty Pharmacy. For this reason, we strive to provide each and every customer with a personalized service that can cater to their unique needs.
Comprehensive/Detailed Medication Information with Every Order
Our pharmacists take the time to provide detailed information regarding the medicine that you are ordering. They are also open to answering any inquiries that you might have about it. By doing so, we make sure that our customers are well-informed when it comes to their medication and health.
If needed, our pharmacists can help customers understand what is written on their medication order. Typically, a medication order contains the date and time the order was written; medication name (brand or generic name); dosage form; dosage strength; frequency of administration; administration route (i.e. eye drops, IV, by mouth); indications for use; and duration of drug therapy.
We understand that sometimes, all of this information can be confusing, which is why our pharmacists are ready to provide detailed medication information with your every order.
Private On-Site Consultation
Our pharmacists are available for consultations. If you have questions about your medication therapy, side effects of medications; or if you want to know more about proper medication management techniques, please schedule an on-site consultation.
During this consultation, you will be meeting one-on-one with one of our credentialed, knowledgeable pharmacists. Listed here are some of the benefits that you can gain during one of these private consultations:
- Get more information about your medications – what to expect from them and what they are for.
- Cost-efficiency. Our pharmacists can review your current drug therapy, help setup services like SingleCare for group purchase savings, and remove duplicate treatments. They can also consult your physician so that you can have a combination pill that will reduce your medication costs.
- Discover any mistakes that you may be unknowingly making while drinking your medications (i.e. drinking medicine after meals, when they should be taken on an empty stomach).
- Discover ways to further improve your health beyond the effects of your medication (i.e. diabetic consultation may involve diet education and lifestyle suggestions).
These are just some of the many ways that you can benefit from a private, on-site consultation. Remember, always leave your consultation with a copy of your discussion and an updated list of your pharmacist’s notes and directions.
Patient Assistance Program and Insurance Verification
Over the years, the prices of medications have steadily gone up. We understand how extremely costly medications can be. This has made it harder for consumers to get the medications that they need, when they need it. While we offer our products and services at cost-effective prices, we go a step further by offering a patient assistance program in order to help our customers get the medications that they need at the lowest prices possible.
Through our patient assistance program, some or all of a co-pay or co-insurance fee of medications may be covered, and some eligible consumers may even get their medications at no cost at all. For customers with commercial insurance coverage, we also offer co-pay cards for some medications. This can help cover some or all of a medication co-pay. Also, we understand that some medications are not covered by insurance companies or need prior authorization. We will work with you throughout the process. We will assist you in getting the prior authorization needed for your medications. Additionally, if have a high copay, will help you find a co-pay assistance coupon. We will work very closely with your physician and medical team.
Furthermore, we can also assist under-insured patients with their out-of-pocket expenses. However, this may only apply to those with certain medical conditions. To learn more, we encourage you to talk to one of our pharmacists for assistance.
When it comes to your health, it is important that you take a proactive approach. Protect yourself against illness and disease by getting the proper vaccinations. Not only does this help protect your health, but it can also help you save on expenses that you may incur if you get sick.
