Shawn Specialty Pharmacy provides pharmacy-outsourced sterile intravenous admixture compounding services with the goal of supporting both patients and clinicians in the delivery of quality patient care and ensuring utmost patient safety. Compounding involves the preparation of customized medications for patients in accordance to the patients’ specific needs and their doctors’ prescriptions.
We have a clean room that is an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility. Our clean room has state-of-the-art equipment enabling us to prepare compounded medications safely and effectively. We follow a strict safety protocol and methods when preparing large-scale sterile compounding to be supplied to hospitals, clinics, surgery centers, and research institutions, among others. These methods help minimize the risks of contamination as well as medication errors.
Changing the strength of any medication is not the only thing Shawn Specialty Pharmacy can do. Our compounding pharmacists work closely with a patient’s prescribing physician in compounding medications. They can modify the form of the medication, remove possible allergens, fillers, dyes or preservatives and even add flavor to such medication for it to be easily ingested by the patient.
We aim to meet the unique needs of patients by preparing prescriptions in the following delivery systems:
- Liquid Solutions, Suspensions, and Emulsions
- Ointments and Creams
- Powder Insufflators
- Suppositories and Enemas
- Transdermal Gels
